General Liability FAQ

Important answers before you choose a policy

What does General Liability insurance commonly cover?

A General Liability policy may respond to covered third-party bodily injury, property damage, and personal and advertising injury claims. The actual protection depends on the policy forms, limits, exclusions and facts of the claim.

How much General Liability coverage does my business need?

The appropriate limits depend on your operations, contracts, customers and risk tolerance. Many commercial contracts request $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate, but requirements vary and higher limits or an umbrella may be needed.

Can you add an additional insured to my policy?

We can review the request and available endorsement options. Additional insured status is provided only when supported by the policy and applicable endorsement, and it may require insurer approval or an additional premium.

Can you provide Primary and Noncontributory or Waiver of Subrogation wording?

We can review these contract requirements and determine whether appropriate endorsements are available. Availability, wording and cost vary by insurer and policy.

Will my General Liability policy be audited?

Many commercial General Liability policies are auditable. The insurer may compare estimated sales, payroll or subcontractor costs with actual figures after the policy period and adjust the premium. We help explain the basis used, but the audit is completed by the insurer.

Does General Liability cover every type of work my business performs?

No. Eligibility and coverage depend on the operations disclosed and the policy terms. Certain trades, project types, heights, residential work, subcontracted work or other exposures may be limited or excluded, so it is important to describe all operations accurately.

How quickly can you issue a certificate of insurance?

Our team prioritizes routine certificate requests after coverage is confirmed. Requests involving special wording, endorsements or insurer approval may require additional time.

Do you offer General Liability insurance throughout Florida?

Yes. We assist eligible contractors and businesses throughout Florida from our West Palm Beach office, with service available in English and Spanish.
